Bag for Blind and Visually Impaired Individuals
This was a group project with one other member from my Wearable Design class. The task was to design a wearable item for blind and visually impaired individuals. We chose to make a bag, because the users could hold all of their basic needs items in one place. To research, we went to the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired and interviewed the students on what they would like to see in a bag made for them. We prioritized simplicity and functionality, choosing blue fabric to stand out, and incorporating removable inserts, adjustable straps, and a customizable sensor. All of the work was documented in a process book.
